Expenses without becoming an accounting system

Categories you define, receipts attached, and a deliberate boundary around what this is not.

The gap most independent properties actually have is not a general ledger. It is that nobody can say what the property spent last month without opening a drawer full of paper.

Expense tracking here is deliberately bounded: categories the property defines, an amount, a date, an attributed member of staff, and a photograph of the receipt attached to the record.

It touches no folio and no tax engine. An expense is money the property spent, not money a guest owes, and keeping those two ledgers apart is what stops a supplier invoice ever appearing on somebody's bill.

It is mode-neutral. A restaurant with no rooms has suppliers, wages and utilities exactly as a hotel does.
