The dominant pattern in independent hospitality technology is no longer adoption — it is consolidation. Properties that added a booking engine, a channel manager, a POS and a messaging tool over five years are now looking at four subscriptions, four support relationships and no shared guest record.
The cost of that fragmentation is rarely the licence fees. It is the reconciliation work: matching restaurant takings to room bills, matching OTA remittances to reservations, and matching a guest complaint to whichever system holds the evidence.
The properties consolidating successfully tend to start from billing rather than from the booking funnel, because the bill is the one artefact every department already touches.
