Check-in is the slowest part of arrival and almost all of it is transcription — a name, a document number, a date of birth, a nationality, typed from a document into a form while the guest waits.
Scanning the document and extracting those fields removes the typing without removing the review. Multiple pages are read in one pass, and more than one script is supported, because a property's guests do not all carry the same document.
It never guesses. A field it could not read comes back null rather than as a plausible-looking value, and null renders as an empty field for a human to complete. A wrong document number that looks right is far worse than a blank one, because it will be filed into a statutory register.
Merging into the booking is additive: extracted values fill empty fields and never overwrite something a receptionist has already typed.
